Galway Bay Hotel Named Best Employer for 2022

Galway Bay Hotel are delighted to announce they have been named ‘Best Employer 2022’ by Galway Chamber of Commerce at their renowned Business Awards this year.

Galway's biggest annual corporate event celebrates all that's excellent about Galway's business community. The award seeks to find businesses that provide a supportive, inclusive, secure and nurturing environment for their employees.

After an extensive submission application, Galway Bay Hotel were shortlisted in the Top 3 companies alongside well known firms Medtronic and VH Architects. Following this, interviews were carried out where a panel of judges assessed each of the companies’ policies in terms of culture, core values, employee incentives and supports. The award was presented to Galway Bay Hotel’s Managing Director Dan Murphy on the night of the ceremony, and it was recognised that this was an outstanding achievement for the hospitality industry considering the competition from established blue chip companies in Galway.

Historically, the hotel industry has had a negative reputation for retaining employees, as the majority of hotel work is seasonal. Over the course of many lockdowns due to Covid-19, they adapted to changing rules and regulations and found ways in which they could retain their staff when many hotels were forced to make redundancies.
