Kali Coffee Bar

Location: 133 Upper Salthill // check them out 
When you’re in Salthill, brighten your day even further with a visit to the lovely Kali Coffee Bar. Here you can sample coffee from an award-winning barista, as co-owner Enda Johnstone last year won the Irish Brewers Cup and went on to represent Ireland on the global stage! Not just for coffee nerds, though, as the team here are passionate about making their space as accessible as possible, so they are dog-friendly and even offer service through Irish Sign Language. Here they also have a lovely garden oasis which is the ideal setting for an iced coffee and  a delicious cinnamon bun or banana muffin by G’Day Bakes.

Ré Coffee + Design

Location: 137 Upper Salthill // check them out
Bringing together all of our favourite things into one space, Ré Coffee + Design is an inviting coffee shop that offers a stunning selection of speciality coffee from Bell Lane roastery in Mullingar, natural wines, and gifts.  They are now serving ice teas, lemonade and affogato with vegan options available and these are the perfect refreshments on a sunny day in Salthill. All of the fun, quirky, and cute cards, crafts, artwork, etc. on their shelves are the creations of local and Irish artists. Additionally, they offer tasty locally-made treats, including cookies, pastries and sandwiches from Hapi Bakery for eat-in or takeaway.

Gourmet Tart Co

Location: Jameson Court, Salthill Upper // check them out 
Both family-friendly and dog-friendly, Gourmet Tart Co has been one of the most popular cafés to visit after walking the Prom especially as it's open from 7am every morning! Offering both takeaway and an indoor seating area with tables and chairs, this café is a great option regardless of whether you are looking for food and coffee on the go or to take the weight off  your feet and enjoy a sit-in cuppa with pals. At Gourmet Tart Co they offer a full range of dairy free milks including oat, almond, coconut and soya, with all preferences considered they really do go the extra mile to ensure their customers get the best coffee.

Beachfront Barista

Location: In front of Galway Bay Hotel // check them out 
In a fabulous location along Salthill’s Promenade, Beachfront Barista in the front gardens of Galway Bay Hotel is a lovely coffee dock that is open seasonally from 7.30am. With a gorgeous al fresco seating area that offers stunning views of Galway Bay, this unique coffee counter is just the place to get a coffee, tea, iced drink, along with a fresh pastry or porridge bowls after walking the promenade or as a post-swim treat. Be sure to bring along your dog if possible because the team here would love to meet them and supply them with a refreshing puppuccino or bowl of water.

The Creamery

Location: The Promenade // check them out
The Creamery is a casual and family-orientated café, bistro and ice cream parlour that has loads to offer guests, whether they are on the go or want to sit-in and unwind. Their food and drink menus accommodate a diverse palate and they are also the number one spot for ice cream in the area and they’ve now even got vegan ice cream available too. On the drinks side of things The Creamery has everything from single espresso macchiatos to herbal teas and frappes. They also have a smoothie bar should you decide to opt for a change from your usual coffee order, whatever you decide to order we guarantee you’ll love it here.

Ground & Co

Location: Atlantaquaria Toft Park // check them out 
Perfectly located near all of Salthill’s top family attractions, this café is incredibly kid-friendly and perfect for all family holidays and trips to the seaside. With both an indoor takeaway and sit-in area as well as covered outdoor tables (dogs are very welcome in this outdoor area also), Ground & Co exudes a cosy and wholesome ambiance and its staff go above and beyond in all they do. Menus here feature a delightful mix of breakfast and deli options, and all their baked goods are made fresh in-house every morning and are the perfect side for your morning coffee.

Blackrock Cottage

Location: Salthill Promenade // check them out
Thanks to their prime location next to Blackrock Diving Tower in Salthill and their ample amounts of outdoor seating, Blackrock Cottage is one of the most popular spots for a coffee for early morning prom walkers and sea swimmers. They open every morning for takeaway coffee and pastries from their container at 7am and for breakfast inside the cottage at 8am. They offer an extensive hot drink menu with the option of alternative milks and even stock an impressive variety of herbal teas, with decaffeinated coffee and tea available also.

The Pear Tree Café & Bistro

Location: Grattan Rd, Salthill // check them out 
At The Pear Tree Café & Bistro they are open from 8am every morning to bring all early risers fresh speciality SOMA coffee as well as homemade pastries, fruit juices, smoothies and delectable sourdough loaded toasties. Everything on the menus at this cosy café has been made using the best locally sourced ingredients including breads from Sullivan’s in Oughterard, organic mixed leaves from Mill House Farm and house specialty coffee from Soma Coffee Company. They also stock a range of The Secret Garden’s speciality teas so regardless of how you like your caffeine intake you can find it at The Pear Tree.
