First Headliner Announced for Galway’s Fall Right Into Place

PILLOW QUEENS are the first headliners to be announced for 2023’s Fall Right Into Place. They will play Saturday 16th September at Claregalway Castle, just outside Galway city. Find out how to book your tickets here...

Tickets are €36 + booking fee and go on sale this Friday 19th May at 10am from fallrightintoplace.ie.

Presented by record label, music agency and all-round music wrangler Strange Brew, this will be the third year of Fall Right Into Place, a festival that The Irish Times called “a masterclass in smart Irish music curation”.

Fall Right Into Place

Dublin indie rock 4 piece Pillow Queens released their sophomore album Leave the Light On through Canadian label Royal Mountain Records in 2022 and went on to tour the album throughout the UK, Europe and North America, including performances at SXSW in Austin and opening for Phoebe Bridgers in Glasgow.

Off the back of the second album’s release, Pitchfork said “Pillow Queens make the kind of noise that tends to flourish live, roared back by the faithful: burnished heartland euphoria, defiant lyricism bolstered by ragged harmonies, lashings of pride, and an unabashed love of crescendos”; The Guardian said, “Sonically, the album evokes the work of Americana-influenced alt-rock musicians such as Angel Olsen, Sharon Van Etten and even the Killers – a sound that is both epically transcendent and comfortingly gritty.”

Taking place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 2023, the Fall Right Into Place line-up is carefully curated to reflect the Strange Brew ethos, honed over 20 years promoting concerts and artists, and features friends, old and new.
Saturday night will see Pillow Queens headline along with many more acts to be announced, over two stages.
There will be a full craft bar from the good people at Galway Bay Brewery, a Valentia Vermouth cocktail bar, wine and cheese bar, oyster stall and tasty food from the Dela Foodtruck and Weirdough Pizza.

Tickets are €36 + booking fee per day and are available from www.fallrightintoplace.ie and www.strangebrew.ie.

There is a return bus service available, going from Galway Cathedral and back to Galway’s West End for a late night music trail in Róisín Dubh, The Blue Note, Massimo, Bierhaus & Salthouse. Get bus tickets here.
All ages welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
