An Taibhdhearc is currently operating under its Síolta 2025-2027 strategy, funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. As part of that strategy, a number of new works in the Irish language have been created - most recently SAOIRSE, the new musical which premiered at the Galway International Arts Festival and is being staged at the Abbey Theatre this month as part of Dublin Fringe Festival.

As part of the process of developing the new strategy, An Taibhdhearc wishes to gather the views of its stakeholders. An Taibhdhearc is committed to serving the theatre, arts, Irish-language and Gaeltacht communities nationally and internationally, and it looks forward to receiving these views in order to strengthen understanding, reflection and decision-making.

Alan Esslemont, Chairperson of the Board of An Taibhdhearc, said; "An Taibhdhearc needs to develop a new strategy. I would like to ask the Gaeltacht community and the Irish-speaking community a question. We say at An Taibhdhearc that we are the National Irish-Language Theatre. What do these communities expect from the National Irish-Language Theatre?"

To support this process, An Taibhdhearc has prepared a short survey. Responses are welcome in both Irish and English. The survey will remain open until 9 October and is available on the An Taibhdhearc website at www.antaibhdhearc.com/suirbhe2026

Sheol An Taibhdhearc, Amharclann Náisiúnta na Gaeilge, suirbhé ar líne chun tuairimí ón bpobal a lorg maidir le Straitéis Nua na Taibhdheirce, do thréimhse 2028-2031.

Faoi láthair tá An Taibhdhearc ag feidhmiú de réir straitéis Síolta 2025-2027, arna maoiniú ag An Roinn Forbartha Tuaithe agus Pobail agus Gaeltachta. Mar chuid den straitéis sin, cruthaítear saothair nua Ghaeilge - is é SAOIRSE an saothar is déanaí. Is ceoldráma nua é a léiríodh den chéad uair ag Féile Idirnáisiúnta na Gaillimhe, agus tá sé ar siúl in Amharclann na Mainistreach an mhí seo, mar chuid d’Fhéile Imill Bhaile Átha Cliath.

Mar chuid den phróiseas chun straitéis nua a fhorbairt, is mian leis An Taibhdhearc tuairimí a bpáirtithe leasmhara a bhailiú. Tá An Taibhdhearc tiomanta do fhreastal a dhéanamh ar phobal na hamharclannaíochta, na healaíne, na Gaeilge agus na Gaeltachta go náisiúnta agus go hidirnáisiúnta. Tá An Taibhdhearc ag tnúth leis na tuairimí seo ar mhaithe le tuiscint, smaointeoireacht agus cinnteoireacht a láidriú.

Dúirt Alan Esslemont, Cathaoirleach Bhord An Taibhdhearc; "Tá stráitéis nua le déanamh ag An Taibhdhearc. Ba mhaith liom ceist a chur ar phobal na Gaeltachta agus ar phobal labhartha na Gaeilge. Deir muid sa Taibhdhearc gur muidne Amharclann Náisiúnta na Gaeilge. Céard leis a bhfuil na pobail seo ag súil ó Amharclann Náisiúnta na Gaeilge?"

Ar mhaithe leis sin, tá suirbhé gearr ullmhaithe ag An Taibhdhearc. Tá fáilte roimh fhreagraí i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla. Beidh an suirbhé ar fáil go dtí 9ú Deireadh Fómhair ar shuíomh na Taibhdheirce, ag www.antaibhdhearc.com/suirbhe2026
