Grilled Cheeses to try before you die; Galway edition

Few things in life provide the utmost joy of biting down into the crisp and cheesy combo of a grilled cheese sandwich. Since we’re a sucker for a cheesy time, we’ve gone and given grilled cheeses across the county a taste in order to get you a list of grilled cheeses you simply must try while in Galway.

Bierhaus

Perfection is a word that comes to mind when you’re presented with a Bierhaus Grilled Cheese. Combining four cheeses and pickles in a sourdough toasted sandwich - it’s a simple formula with mouth watering results. This grilled cheese really is the perfect post work snack (especially when paired with some of their new cocktails) so we highly recommend making this your destination at the end of your day. To make things even better, everything on the Bierhaus food menu is now 100% vegetarian and all tastes as delicious as it looks.

Meltd

The creation of two well known Galway foodies, Steve and Jason, Meltd quickly made a name for itself as one of the best sandwich shops in Galway. Featuring an unbeatable menu of hot buttery cheesy sandwiches that have been meltd to perfection. For this list we have to give special credits to the Cheesus. Yes you heard us! This cheese-only sandwich is a staple of their menu and is unsurprisingly one of the best cheese toasties we’ve had the pleasure of tasting. Don’t brie-lieve us? Try it for yourself at 3 Middle Street Galway.

An Tobar Nua

This next one has been a favourite of ours for awhile now and for very good reason! Available for sit-in or takeaway, the gourmet grilled cheese sourdough sandwich that is available at An Tobar Nua comes with cheese, cheese and even more cheese! You can also opt to take this deliciousness to the next level by adding tomatoes and onions.

Calling all cheese lovers! A must-visit if you're suffering from the toastie craze in Galway, Tasty Toasty serves up exactly what the name suggests. Their Triple Cheese brings together a beautiful blend of cheeses from Sheridan’s Cheesemongers and is oh so tasty- we insist you treat yourself to one asap! The Tasty Toasty team tasted, tested and narrowed down dozens of different cheeses to make their 3-cheese blend so you know it’s going to be good.
