Ember Firehouse

Located right amongst the buzz of the Latin Quarter, Ember Firehouse is the perfect place to enjoy a bit of solo dining. With Ollie bringing the heat to the streets and grilling up a storm on dry days and an intimate setting indoors, you’ll be busy being swept up in all that is happening around you as you enjoy deliciously charred delights and fiery flavours.

The ideal drinking and dining experience is provided by the legendary folk over at Bierhaus. We’d recommend travelling here alone so you can truly appreciate its atmosphere and bar chats without entertaining any companion. Topping it all off, the cocktail and food menus are some of the best in Galway so if you feel like having a bit of me time this is the spot.

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat on your lonesome, Freddy’s have a place prepared for you complete with some incredible entertainment. Pull up a high stool in front of their kitchen area and watch (and smell) pizzas being cooked in the large pizza oven. Serving up tasty authentic Italian food all week long, you can’t go wrong when choosing Freddy’s as your solo dining destination.

A relaxed after work drink and accompanying cheese and charcuterie board is The Lane’s speciality. A neighbourhood wine bar at its finest, you might arrive at the door here on your own but we can guarantee you’ll be making friends and having a laugh with strangers by the end of the evening.

Búilín Blasta

Escape to Spiddal and take some time for yourself to wander around the gorgeous craft village and finish off your gallivanting at Búilín Blasta. During the day the beautiful café serves delicious coffee, iced drinks and light bites and transforms into a wine bar in the evenings. This is just the place every solo traveller hopes to happen upon.

Xian Street Food

The casual Chinese restaurant, Xian Street Food is ideal for people travelling alone and looking for a quick bite to eat. Downstairs you can take in the nonstop action of people coming and going as well as the bustle of their open kitchen. Upstairs, the pace is slower and if you snag a window seat you can enjoy a bit of people watching while you tuck into platters of deliciousness.
