Jane’s paintings explore the quiet architecture of the natural world, from the delicate curve of a petal to the geometry of a leaf. Jane’s subjects range from wild and ornamental plants to edible ones - hazelnut, dulse, and carrageen among them - ingredients deeply rooted in Irish tradition and the natural landscape.

Two of the works on display at Daróg Wine Bar were awarded a Silver Medal at the Botanical & Floral Art in Bloom Exhibition in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

"In every plant, from the curve of a petal to the intricate geometry of a leaf, there exists a quiet world of wonder," says Jane. "My paintings for All in the Detail are a meditation on that hidden beauty, inviting the eye to linger and the mind to slow.”

A founding member and former chair of the Irish Society of Botanical Art, Jane has been central to the growth of botanical art in Ireland. Her work combines scientific precision with sensitivity and care, reflecting a lifelong devotion to the natural world.

As part of the exhibition, which is on display until January 5th, Daróg will host Le Chéile: An Evening of Creative Conversation on Monday 24th of November, where Jane joins owner Edel Lukács in conversation about her creative process. Your ticket for this event includes two wines paired for the discussion, a pop-up art shop, and 10% off artwork purchased on the night. Tickets are €20 per person and space is limited so booking is essential - get yours here.

At Daróg Wine Bar, they proudly showcase the original works of talented local artists on their Gallery Wall. With a background in art and design, owner Edel’s vision was to create a space where creativity thrives, enhancing the atmosphere of the wine bar while providing a platform to showcase the vibrant talents of our community. Each year, they showcase six exhibitions, offering a rotating collection that celebrates diverse styles, mediums, and perspectives. Every piece displayed adds to the unique character of Daróg and offers guests the chance to connect with the heart of local artistry.

‘Le Chéile’ means ‘together’ in Irish. These special events, which run alongside each exhibition on Daróg's Gallery Wall, are open to anyone seeking inspiration and connection. Each evening includes an artist talk, a guided wine tasting, and a pop-up art shop — all designed to spark conversation and creative exchange. In conversation with owner Edel McMahon-Lukács, whose background in art and design brings a unique perspective, the exhibiting artist shares insights into their work, their process, and the pieces currently on display at Daróg. It’s a welcoming, informal space where guests and the artist can engage in open dialogue — sharing ideas, stories, and perspectives. These events invite participation and curiosity, celebrating the shared experience of art and its power to connect us in meaningful ways.
