A celebration of DIY culture from Ireland’s western edge, the event brings together a diverse mix of artists, labels, and collectives for a day of connection, creativity, and discovery. Designed for music makers, music-promoters, and music-lovers, the market will feature vinyl, tapes, zines, merch, and more alongside a packed schedule of live performances and DJ sets throughout the day.

The lineup reflects the strength and diversity of Ireland’s independent scene, featuring:
Babyrat, Nerves, Shark School, Red Sun Alert, Animal Animal, Housemates, Blowtorch Records, LARAbEL, SASP Records, T.A. Narrative, Relish Records, Sulk Hogan, Rural Hate, West Coast Punks, Puck, and Bees And Sawdust.

Among the standout acts, Nerves have quickly built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting alternative rock bands, known for their high-energy performances and sharp, melodic songwriting. Shark School bring a vibrant, genre-blurring indie sound that has earned them growing national attention, while Babyrat continue to make waves with their distinctive style and strong live presence, marking them out as one of the most compelling emerging acts on the scene.

The day will culminate in a full band set from LARAbEL, closing out the live programme before the venue transitions into late-night DJ sets.

Going Coastal Merch Market

In addition to performances and stalls, Music Generation Galway City will host a Sing Write Record workshop for young songwriters as part of the event. Further details will be shared via Music Generation Galway City’s social channels.

The Going Coastal Music Market is made possible with the support of Galway City Council Arts Office, Flirt FM, Music Generation Galway City and The Blue Note.

This free event offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with the people shaping Ireland’s grassroots music culture — all under one roof.
