Galway Comedy Festival presents Comedy Club Crawl with Barry Murphy, Sophia Wren, Al Porter, Adam Burke

Galway Comedy Festival is bursting at the seams with comedy brilliance, all part of a 70-strong line-up of international stars, homegrown comedy greats, and emerging talent, playing 69 shows across 16 venues over 7 days and nights. You’d best start planning your week of ‘carefully curated craic’.

Barry Murphy
Barry Murphy is, simply, a living legend of Irish comedy. Alongside Ardal O’Hanlon and Kevin Gildea, he co-founded The International Comedy Club in Dublin, a key breeding ground for the Irish alternative-comedy boom of the 1990s, the repercussions of which are still felt today. He was also one-third of Aprés Match where his turns as Frank Stapleton and Liam Brady were nothing short of inspired, while his German character, Günther, is a brilliant means through which we can laugh at the absurdity of some of our own social norms in Ireland.

Sophia Wren
Sophia Wren has taken the Irish comedy scene by storm in just a couple of years. In 2024 she won ‘Show Me The Funny’, and was a finalist in Bray Comedy Festival’s ‘Best New Act’ competition, and the prestigious ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ competition in Edinburgh.

Adam Burke
Adam is a regular host of Bingo Loco and The Laughter Lounge, who has performed at All Together Now Festival, Electric Picnic, and last year’s Galway Comedy Festival, while 2025 has already seen him support Jarlath Regan, Dylan Moran, Des Bishop, Andrew Maxwell, and Willa White. No wonder The Sunday Independent says he’s “teetering on the edge of the mainstream”.

Al Porter
Following up his sold-out tour in 2023/24, Al’s back with AL PORTER ALGORITHM where his unique brand of exciting, energetic and fun loving comedy meets his most relatable stories ever!

Why does Instagram think he needs to get assessed? Can you learn to love renting in a house share? Can his parents deal with empty nest syndrome? Why is his brother the golden child? And much more!

One of few Irish comics ever nominated for a Perrier Award (like Tommy Tiernan and Dylan Moran before him) Al’s 2023/24 show “Now” was critically acclaimed with reviews like, “Gloriously upbeat! No self pity… Irrepressible stand up storytelling (Chortle) and “Dazzling…Brilliant and very funny” (The Scotsman)

AL PORTER’s ALGORITHM is trying to find a formula for living in a world on fire! Just like online, in life, you’ll see more of what you pay attention to and Al’s always on the look out for the upside!
