Headfest, Headford’s community-run festival, returns for the June Bank Holiday weekend with a packed three night music line-up that brings some of Ireland’s best folk, rock, trad and dance acts to the Headfest stage.

Headford, County Galway, is the place to be in June 2026. Sunday night closes the weekend with an eclectic mix of trad, folk and contemporary sounds. Ruaile Buaile take the stage with their upbeat twisted-trad style, supported by Tradstone, a lively trad rock and folk group from Tipperary and Galway. The night finishes with The Tav Jam Band, a nine piece collective of musicians from Campbells Tavern who bring an energetic mix of rock, blues and reggae.

Ruaile Buaile are a five piece twisted-trad band based in the Irish midlands and known for their powerful, upbeat live shows. Formed in 2011, the group now features world renowned fiddler Cathal Guinan and banjo player Seán Bourke alongside original members Niall Kelly, Jack Godley and Shane Lynam. Their set blends old Irish favourites, ground-thumping trad and clever reworks of modern classics. Ruaile Buaile are a festival favourite across Ireland and beyond, entertaining crowds with their huge sound and unstoppable energy.

The Tav Jam Band brings together a diverse range of musicians connected through the legendary Campbells Tavern in Cloughanover. They will perform as a nine piece on the night and their music draws inspiration from rock, blues, reggae and anything else that catches their imagination. Their lively mix of styles and musicianship creates a one-of-a-kind show that always gets the crowd moving.

Plus Support: Tradstone are a lively four piece trad rock and folk band from Tipperary and Galway, based around Lorrha and Portumna. Their mix of traditional tunes and modern folk rhythms sets the perfect tone to kick off the night.
