Kylemore Abbey invites visitors to begin their festive season with The First Light of Christmas on Sunday, November 30th, the first Sunday of Advent. Set within the tranquillity of the historic monastic estate in Connemara, the event offers a peaceful and memorable start to Christmas.

At 4:30pm, the wonderful Mayo Male Voice Choir will perform a selection of Christmas Classics in Ostyn Hall in the Monastery, Education & Retreat Centre followed by the lighting of the Kylemore Abbey Christmas tree, viewed from the bridge across Pollacappul Lake from 5:30–5:45pm.

Guests are welcomed to arrive early to the estate and browse the Kylemore Craft & Design Shop—open until 6pm-for unique gifts, while enjoying handmade festive treats, mulled wine, and seasonal drinks. The Kylemore Kitchen & Café will serve a wholesome Christmas inspired Sunday Carvery from 12–4:30pm.

Shoppers can also discover other Kylemore-made Christmas flavours including puddings, brandy butter, mulled wine mix, handmade chocolates, and pick up gifts such as soaps crafted by the Benedictine community, alongside a curated selection of Irish and international gifts.
