An initiative of the Galway City Council Climate Action Team will harness Galway's creative energy and embrace our theatrical, musical, art, active travel, sport, Gaeilge and food cultures. It will deliver on objectives as set out in the recently adopted Galway City climate action plan.

Mary Robinson in Conversation with Philip Boucher Hayes

The Galway Climate Inspirations Festival is hosting an intimate conversation between Mary Robinson and Philip Boucher Hayes, both at the forefront of Climate Action in Ireland and around the world and both national treasures in their own right. Join them in conversation as they discuss inspiring stories of climate action from around the world.
Féasta! - A Long Table Pop Up
September 14th, at 5.30pm / Printworks, Market Street / tickets here
The premise is simple; everything on the table must come from Galway County or Galway Bay, sourced as locally and sustainably as possible. Some of Ireland's leading culinary lights - guided by Michelin starred Chef Enda McEvoy - will be cooking up a storm and showcasing inspirational ways in which simple, seasonal and quality fare can be elevated into a mouthwatering feast! Tickets include; a welcome drink, fabulous meal and live entertainment. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. Féasta is curated by Hinterland, a new social enterprise aiming to connect food, people and place.
Colm O'Regan: Climate Worrier

Are you worried about All The Bad News On The Environment and laugh grimly at it all? Me too. Avoid despair and instead join Colm for laughs, ideas and even hope as he tries to grapple with Everything Being Broken and how he might start to help. Along the way find out what Greta has in common with Irish aul lads, how to harness the power of Liveline and a simple trick for the first step in Doing A Bit.
John Spillane

This special, bilingual, family-friendly performance as a part of The Galway Climate Inspirations Festival is one not to miss! John Spillane is a musician, songwriter, performer, recording artist, storyteller, poet and dreamer. Rooted in people, place and story, his music transports the listener and his live performances captivate audiences around the world. John’s music is inspired by and encapsulates Irish traditional music in its contemporary form – a reflection of Ireland today.

Playful Streets
September 13-15th, from 10am / Middle Street / more information here
‘Playful Streets’ is taking over Middle street and transforming it with a full free programme of games, pop-up street theatre, face painting, art, circus, and musical performances all aimed at prompting climate conversations. Experience a captivating array of activities: face painting, live music, drumming workshops, and street games. Engage with walkabout performances and DJ Will Softly's Kid's Disco. Be mesmerized by the stunning performance of Cellisimo and delve into the thought-provoking "Sounds of Climate Change" artwork by Mark Clare. Feel the energy of The Bash Brothers and enjoy the spectacle of stilt walkers. Discover pop-up climate theatre from Fregoli and join in climate conversations that spark new ideas and inspire change.
In addition to the events listed above there will be a series of talks and panel discussions taking place in An Taibhdhearc on Friday 13th & Sat 14th, and experts will look at a variety of topics like the reality of achieving Carbon targets, how we adapt to the weather implications of climate change and a look at inspirational stories from around the world. The Repair Café at the Galway City Museum will run mending workshops aimed at beginners on Sat 14th and there will be a further chance to promote Galway’s circular economy on Sunday 15th with the Second Hand Market on Middle Street.
