Show Me The Funny Returns to The Kings Head

Ireland's biggest and longest running comedy competition, Bulmers' Show Me The Funny returns to The Kings Head in Galway next Monday January 23rd!

Under the watchful eye of host and MC, the hilarious Gerry Mallon, 10 up-and-coming comedians will battle it out in the first of five consecutive Monday night heats! Two of them will go through to the Grand Final on Monday February 27th. The eventual winner of that Final will be awarded a career-changing slot on stage in the Comedy Tent at Electric Picnic plus 2 Weekend VIP tickets for the festival itself!

There are also fantastic runner-up prizes on offer, including slots at All Together Now, Galway Comedy Festival and Galway International Arts Festival later on in the year.

Previous years' contestants and finalists have included Kevin McGarhen, Bernard Casey, Alison Spittle, Al Porter, Emma Doran, Julie Jay and several others who are now mainstays of the Irish comedy circuit, so 'Show Me The Funny' at The Kings Head offers Galway audiences a chance to catch the stars of tomorrow, today!

There will also be special guest acts each night, with Karl Spain joining the fun for the first show on January 23rd. Fresh from supporting Kevin Bridges on his recent arena tour, this loveable Limerick scallywag is sure to make you howl with laughter! Tickets, which cost a mere €5 and includes a free pint of Bulmers Cider, are available at the door which opens at 7.45pm with the show starting at 8.30pm.
