See your art light up Galway City at Culture Night Late

Get ready to see your art light up the city! Galway City Council's Night-Time Economy, in partnership with the French Embassy in Ireland and acclaimed French artist Maxime Touroute, invites you to be part of Let's Draw for Galway City Culture Night Late on Friday, September 19, 2025. Find out how to get involved here...

This interactive public art event will transform the facade of the iconic Comerford House at the Spanish Arch into an illuminated canvas. The public is invited to create artworks, contributing to a large scale, ever-evolving public artwork.

Join artists like Maxime Touroute, Claire Prouvost, Sandrine Fourrier, Marcus O’ Connor and Elena Dova and more at the Spanish Arch between 8pm and 12am midnight on Culture Night, Friday September 19th for Let's Draw. You'll have the chance to create your drawings in real-time and see them projected live onto the building. Volunteers will be on hand to guide you, so no experience is necessary. All you need is a phone! There will also be limited devices available on the night for you to use also, but you can submit your drawings ahead of time via the online portal.

Submit Your Art Online: Can't make it to the event or prefer to draw from home? You can submit your artwork online, and it will be projected onto Comerford House during Culture Night Late.

When: The drawing platform will be open from September 1 to September 15.

Where: Access the platform at https://galway.maximetouroute.com/. You can draw directly on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

What to Draw: We encourage simple, bold drawings with clear outlines and vibrant colours that will project beautifully. To get you started, think about themes like "Draw Galway," "Draw your favourite food," "Draw your favourite animal."

When you submit your drawing, you'll have the option to include your first name and location. This makes it easy to spot your unique creation as it illuminates the building!
