This is the second time they have won a prestigious national marketing award for their Foras na Gaeilge national Irish language marketing campaign Creidim Ionat - I Believe In You.

Galway-based creative agency Lorg Media has triumphed at the 2024 Irish Digital Media Awards, securing the Best Integrated Media Campaign award for their work on Creidim Ionat, an Irish language initiative created for Foras na Gaeilge, in partnership with national broadcaster RTÉ. Their gold award was announced on 6th September 2024 at the 21st Anniversary Digital Media Gala Awards ceremony in the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, celebrating the best in digital innovation and creative excellence across Ireland.

The national, all-island media campaign, Creidim Ionat / I Believe In You is a mentor/mentee led multi-channel campaign which took place for the second time in 2024, the original campaign having won Best Influencer Campaign at the Spider Awards in 2022. The campaign encourages everyone with an interest in learning Irish to sign up online and follow the mentees’ journeys across traditional and online media as they complete their Irish language goals over a 5 week period.

"To see an Irish language campaign like Creidim Ionat win gold for our client Foras na Gaeilge is testament to their dedication to the promotion of our national language. The rich and vibrant campaign has allowed us at Lorg Media to combine our passion for the Irish language with our expertise in digital storytelling. Winning this award demonstrates our creative team’s dedication to marketing strategy, video creation and the power of partnership." Loretta Ní Ghabháin, Director of Lorg Media.

Broadcaster and presenter, Sinéad Ní Uallacháin mentored Brendan Courtney and David O’Reilly to record a bilingual episode of their podcast Any News. She also travelled around Ireland visiting community groups mentoring each other as part of the Creidim Ionat campaign. Her travels took her to Carntogher in Derry, a rural community who are passing on the Irish language from generation to generation, as well as Chnoc Liamhna (Knocklyon), where Irish language choir, As Béal a Chéile mentored the Ukrainian Action Choir to perform a song together as Gaeilge.

"Foras na Gaeilge is very proud to receive this recognition for the Creidim Ionat initiative. We were very fortunate to work with Lorg Media, who have excelled as leaders in digital innovation and media strategy. We are grateful for the support of RTÉ who allowed us to showcase the true potential of the Creidim Ionat concept, to our mentors Sinéad Ní Uallacháin and Aindriú de Paor, and to Irish language choir, As Béal a Chéile, who mentored Ukrainian Action Choir." Anna Davitt, Communications Manager of Foras na Gaeilge.

Also taking part in the campaign were The 2 Johnnies, who were mentored by radio producer and presenter Aindriú De Paor as they successfully recorded their hit single ‘When I Play for the County’ entirely as Gaeilge, with listeners following their journey on 2FM.

"RTÉ's partnership with Foras na Gaeilge for the Creidim Ionat campaign is an important demonstration of our commitment to the promotion of the Irish language. It was a thrill to work once again with Lorg Media on this dynamic campaign, leveraging RTÉ people and platforms to engage the nation in the Irish language." Tracey Diamond, Brand and Marketing Manager RTÉ

The campaign seamlessly integrated traditional media—such as television, radio, and print—with a comprehensive online strategy. This included social media outreach, email marketing and targeted digital advertising. The strategy this year incorporated online language classes and sessions from Gael Linn, Gaelchultúr and Scoil Scairte, giving hundreds of people all over the world the opportunity to connect or reconnect with the Irish language. Additionally, an interactive website allowed users to track their progress and earn badges by completing weekly language-learning tasks.

Lorg Media were also shortlisted on the strength of this campaign for Best Small Agency (less than 15 team members) at this year's Digital Marketing Awards.
