Gradam Digital Media Award

Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh is a bilingual business award that recognises and celebrates businesses and organisations of Galway city who are promoting the Irish language within their businesses to support a bilingual Galway. The Gradam is organised by Gaillimh le Gaeilge in partnership with The Galway Advertiser, TG4 and with the support of the Galway Chamber. Other proud sponsors of the Gradam include: Galway Bay FM, Fáilte Ireland, Computer Troubleshooters, Platform 94, Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, Ollscoil na Gaillimhe, Údarás na Gaeltachta and MOLSCÉAL.

In May of this year, the Minister of State for the Gaeltacht, Thomas Byrne TD, announced Lally Tours as the overall winner of the Gradam 2024 and they were named the 15th Tribe of Galway for the year ahead. They received a beautiful sculpture designed especially for the Gradam by Pádraic Reaney, depicting the 14 Tribes of Galway, with one extra tribe outstanding, symbolising the Gradam winner – the new Tribe of Galway. Other category winners were: Just Art It, Murphy & Me, Irish Socksciety, and Feachtas Rothaíochta na Gaillimhe (Galway Cycling Campaign).

A nomination like this would not be possible without the support of Galway city businesses, nominees, and sponsors, who embraced the Irish language throughout the Gradam. Míle buíochas to you all! Keep an eye on Gaillimh le Gaeilge’s social media for a live feed of category winners and snippets of the awards night in Dublin.
