Gourmet Tart Co Pledge Huge Prize to RNLI

Much loved Galway business, Gourmet Tart Co were last night announced as the winners of the Irish Business Design Challenge and were awarded €15,000 as their prize! Incredibly, they have pledged to donate that massive prize fund to RNLI in memory of regular customers and true Claddagh men, Martin and Tom Oliver, who tragically passed away recently.

This is an absolutely incredible gesture from a company who are already at the heart of the community here in Galway. It is a gesture that will have profound consequences. "Absolutely AMAZING, thank you so much Michelle and Fintan, you have no idea what this will do for us. RIP Martin & Tom", said one RNLI spokesperson.

Gourmet Tart Co were chosen ahead of thousands of Irish companies across all industries for this year's top prize, which sought to celebrate and encourage business innovation in this most challenging of years. The Galway-based company, run by the Hyland family, pivoted their business to focus on hampers and home deliveries so they could get their fantastic, home-made food to more and more people. The business' success in adapting to the times saw them, not only retain staff, but increase the size of their team!
