Get Around Galway by Night – Your Transport Options

Galway comes alive in the evening and night-time, and we want to ensure you can easily access all it has to offer. Whether you're attending a gig, the theatre, enjoying a meal with friends, or simply exploring the city's charm in the evening, a variety of public and commercial transport options are available to facilitate your experience after 6pm. Galway City Council is committed to supporting the night-time economy by promoting the use of public transport during evening and night-time hours. Ensuring that everyone can enjoy Galway's vibrant nightlife safely and conveniently. 

The National Transport Authority (NTA), in partnership with the Department of Transport and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, is supporting a new campaign to promote night-time Transport for Ireland (TFI) public transport services nationwide.  This campaign has been developed in collaboration with the Night-Time Economy Advisors in the Night-Time Economy pilot areas across the country. Public Transport

Buses: Galway's bus network continues to operate into the evening, providing a safe and convenient way to travel around the city. [evening and late-night bus routes include: 401, 402, 404, 405, 407, 409, 424, Bus Éireann 419, 425A, 456]

Trains: For journeys beyond the city, check the train schedules for evening services connecting Galway to other towns and cities.
