Galway’s Lorg Media on a winning streak at prestigious Digital Awards!

Lorg Media are thrilled to have won Best in Social Media at this year's Spider Awards, recognised for their exceptional work with Power Pictures supporting TG4’s live broadcast of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.

Lorg Media provided innovative and diverse social media coverage of the Fleadh Cheoil festival which took place in Mullingar last year.

This small but mighty agency bet off stiff competition from large national and multinational marketing agencies. 'The Best in Social Media' category is aimed at recognising campaigns that have effectively leveraged social media channels to achieve remarkable outcomes, and all those who made the final demonstrated a thoughtful, creative, and well-executed approach to engaging with their target audiences.

This is Lorg Media’s second year in a row to take home a Spider, having won ‘Best Influencer Led Campaign’ last year for their work on Creidim Ionat, an Irish language campaign for Foras na Gaeilge.

The Lorg Media team have worked with TG4 on Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann social media output since 2016 and have captured, created and shared dynamic social media content across TG4’s social media channels over the years. This behind-the-scenes coverage supported four live shows broadcasted by TG4 during the festival.

Dubbed 'The Oscars of Ireland’s digital industry', the Spider Awards are the longest running digital awards in Ireland. Celebrating its 27th consecutive year, the awards continue to be Ireland’s benchmark for digital excellence.

On bringing the Spider award west to Galway, Proinsias Ní Ghráinne, TG4 Commissioning Editor, commented; "Winning the Spider Award for Best Social Media is a testament to Lorg Media's unwavering commitment to excellence in the digital landscape. This accolade is a recognition of their team's creativity, innovation, and dedication to delivering exceptional content that resonates with audiences at home and overseas."

Loretta Ní Ghabháin, Founder and Director of Lorg Media, said; "Tá mé chomh bródúil as an bhfoireann iontach anseo i Lorg Media. To win for the second year running at the Spiders is such an achievement for our talented team. We’ve worked on social media at Fleadh Cheoil for TG4 for over eight years. In 2016 we broadcast Ireland’s and TG4’s first ever viral Facebook live. Since then we have created content from 360° videos to GIPHYs and embraced TikTok trends and all in between!”

Lorg Media also earned recognition as a finalist for the 'Cultural Driver Award', acknowledging their work with the Arts Council on Culture Night, as well as being a finalist for 'Small Agency of the Year'.

The Galway-based creative marketing agency is passionate about creating new and innovative ways to promote Irish businesses, culture, arts and the Irish language on the island of Ireland and beyond.

The judges of this year’s Spider Awards said; "Lorg Media’s success is a testament to their innovative approach and exceptional execution…they masterfully brought Irish culture to the forefront through their use of bilingual posts, which not only broadened their audience reach, but also showcased a deep commitment to the Irish Language. The results speak for themselves with 3.7 million video views and 36.7 million impressions on #Fleadh23, making this Fleadh Cheoil one of the most viewed since its inception with on-air views up by 33%."

The Spider Awards took place on Friday, March 1st 2024, in Dublin’s Mansion House.
