Galway School Triumphs at Credit Union Schools Quiz 2024

Amazing news for Knocknacarra Educate Together as team wins the Credit Union Schools Quiz 2024.

A huge achievement for the students in Knocknacarra Educate Together National School, who were representing Claddagh Credit Union, as they have been crowned champions in Competition B (Senior) category of the highly anticipated Credit Union Schools Quiz 2024. The final which took place in the RDS in Dublin had more than 90 teams competing and was brought to life by the cheers and support from families, friends, and teachers. Renowned presenter John Sharpson, known to many as Múinteoir John, hosted the final, adding to the excitement of the occasion.

Knocknacarra Educate Together National School is also celebrating their ten years of education, so this win is the icing on the cake! Speaking about the quiz, Matt Wallen, the principal, said: “We are delighted that for the second year in a row a team from our school has won the Credit Union Schools Quiz Final, last year in Category A and this year in Category B. We’re extremely proud of the team who demonstrated great knowledge and cooperation to achieve this incredible result. We’re also grateful to the teachers and parents who supported these children to prepare for the quiz.”

The quiz is an important part of the Irish League of Credit Union’s (ILCU) youth outreach programme, which aims to demonstrate the value of local credit unions to children and young people.
