Talk & Cooking Demo: Traditional Christmas Fare at Westside Resource Centre

Traditionally, roast goose was the bird of choice for the Christmas dinner table in Ireland. It was accompanied by stuffing, made of bread or potato, with butter, onions, and seasonal herbs. Join culinary historian Anna O’Donnell as she discusses traditional Christmas fare in Ireland and how to prepare it. Be prepared to do a taste test. Attendees will also be invited to share their cherished Christmas food memories.

As part of its outreach programme, Galway City Museum has curated a series of educational events, which will take place at Westside Resource Centre, on Seamus Quirke Road, throughout the darker months between October 2024 and February 2025. The series has been specially developed in response to the interests of the local community and covers a wide range of topics.

These events are free of charge, and all are welcome, but please book in advance by contacting Westside Resource Centre at (091) 528325.
