Following two sold-out concerts last Christmas, the Ivernia String Quartet will once again transform The Mall Theatre, Tuam into a winter wonderland for a very special performance of Christmas Movie Music on Sunday 22nd December at 3pm.

Galway’s Ivernia String Quartet will perform themes from James Bond, Frozen, Harry Potter and more, following their hugely popular concerts last Christmas. The centrepiece of this year’s event will be music from The Snowman, the magical tale of a snowman who comes alive and goes on an amazing adventure! The story will be brought to life by award winning puppeteer Tommy Baker and his puppets. For the famous Walking in the Air song, featured in The Snowman, the string quartet will be joined by young Tuam singer Sarah Brennan, a student of St. Jarlath’s College, who recently played Viv in their production of Footloose. The quartet features Galway cellist Eszter Cetinceviz, with violinist James Warren and violist Katharina Baker, all led by Galway conductor and violinist Sinéad Hayes. Sinead is well known to Galway music fans and has just conducted two sold-out concerts Christmas concerts with the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall. She is very excited to bring this new version of The Snowman to audiences of all ages, in her hometown of Tuam.

Our mission is to shine a light on all the talent here in the west of Ireland, and create opportunities for emerging performers.”
