As part of a new series of Free gigs in Róisín Dubh (Top Bar), Strange Brew presents…Brunch Berry.

Brunch Berry is the musical alias of multi instrumentalist Ben Duffy. In 2022 he released his debut album ‘First Vibration’ which was entirely recorded, mixed and mastered by Ben in he and his brothers’ Home studio in County Meath.

Influences for the project range from James Brown, Ray Charles, Led Zeppelin and John Martyn to Tribe Called Quest, St Germain, Bonobo and Khruangbin.

Based off the merit of his debut album he was awarded an agility grant from the arts council of Ireland to record his second album ‘Coloured in Full’ which is due for release in early 2024.

The live band of Brunch Berry features the powerful rhythm section of Dave ‘Shocks’ Shaughnessy and Sam Wright, a funktastic duo who currently play in many of the bands on the Galway scene. On guitars it features the fantastically melodic and inventive Jack Sherrard, a graduate of BIMM and Aidan Duffy, Ben’s prolific younger brother who has released huge amounts of recorded work in the last 2 years. They are now getting busy as a five-piece putting their sounds out on the Irish music front and putting performance before all else.
