Musical Performance: International Uilleann Piping Day at Galway City Museum

The uilleann (‘elbow’ in Irish) pipes or ‘Irish pipes’ are a sophisticated form of bagpipe with a history that can be traced back to the 1700s. In recognition of its cultural importance, uilleann piping was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2017.

To celebrate International Uilleann Piping Day (IUPD) 2024, join piper Tommy Keane and friends at Galway City Museum. This musical event is free of charge and no booking is required.

Suitable for all ages.
