The Micil whiskey experience is a deep dive into the history of Irish whiskey, beginning back when whiskey and poitín were essentially the same spirit, separated only by the buying of a licence. You’ll discover the real story of their whiskey and how it’s made, and learn all about brewing, distilling, mash bills, cask finishes and maturation. You’ll hear about their own illicit 170-year old family distilling tradition, and how they make whiskey at Micil today. You’ll discover what makes our whiskey so unique, and learn about the innovative blending and cask finishing happening at Micil while their own whiskey stock matures.

The tour takes place in the heart of a working distillery and includes three tastings – two independent whiskey bottlings by Micil and a very special Heritage Edition poitín made with peated barley and oats. It’s a fun, interactive experience that’s a must-do for all whiskey lovers!
