MFEST presents ABLAZE Theatre Company’s Moments Alone at Town Hall Studio

Moments Alone By Moya Noctor

‘They call it the Great Flood.’

Twenty-four and newly-finally-diagnosed with endometriosis, Noah sits in a cave alone.

It’s damp, it’s dark, and it’s hers.

A mini fridge stocked with cheap G&T tins and ‘The Very Best of Dolly Parton (Remastered)’ are Noah’s sole companions as she grapples with a diagnosis no one has an answer for.

Noah expects no pity. What she expects is for her audience to listen. As she recounts her experience of chronic pain, fruitless GP visits, and disintegrating relationships, she paints a tragicomic portrait of the frustrations of so many Irish women and trans people who have been left behind by our healthcare system.

‘Moments Alone’ draws on the playwright and performer Moya Noctor’s experience of life with endometriosis and the testimonies of others living with the condition. It asks its audience:

Why is Noah living in a cave? Will she ever leave? Would YOU want to?
