Leon Stax are launching their new album in style on their home turf in Galway City. With support from Cherry Pickers and Entertainment Purposes on the stage of the Loft, Galway. A night of sweet music is sure to ensue!

This is the 3rd studio album from LSE titled In View. Producing it was their first time working in other people’s studios(Monique, Cork/Arthouse, Kildare) but is still entirely self produced and mixed by bandleader Leon Stax and Keys/guitarist Aidan Duffy. The album is a collection of all originally composed songs rather than any conceptual interplay between the songs and their themes. It is made up of soul songs with rock, blues and jazz flavours and an overall upbeat and punchy energy. The music was mostly recorded live with minimal overdubbing.

In 2022 Leon Stax released his album ‘First Vibration’ which was entirely recorded, mixed and mastered by Leon in his home studio. Still being the height of the pandemic live shows were not possible. In April 2023, he put together a band that shared his hunger to get in front of an audience. Their 2nd Album ‘Coloured in Full’ was released in 2024.

The Leon Stax Equation features a powerful rhythm section of Leon on drums and Sam Wright on Bass. Sam is a highly accomplished Galway musician who has been a regular on the Irish circuit for the last 15 years with groups like My Fellow Sponges, Big Jelly and The Rains. On guitar and backing vocals is featured the fantastically melodic and inventive Jack Sherrard, another Meath man and a graduate of BIMM with music in his blood. On vocals is Lucan born Shannon Doyle, an unmistakable face from the Dublin music scene known for her work in bands ranging from Ska(skatuesques, Dodgy few) to soul and Afrobeat (Toshin, Yankari). Brand new to the band is Oran O’Neill. A passionate composer, arranger and trombone and Keys player recently graduated with full marks from the Cork School of music. Lastly the unstoppable Duffy brothers Tom and Aidan Duffy, who swap instruments between keys, percussion, saxophone, backing vocals and guitar.
