There is an epic show lined up in Monroe’s Live on Sunday June 8th for the Galway Folk Festival featuring The Half Room, and Deray Barboros for what is going to be a special night of live music!

The Half Room: The Half Room features the beautiful vocals of renowned Dingle singer Pauline Scanlon, the velvety richness of singer-songwriter Nicola Joyce, from celebrated Galway trio The Whileaways, and the earthy authenticity of vocalists Eoin Wynne and Fabian Joyce. Bonded by their mutual passion for folk songs and singing, their debut self-titled album is a year in the making and a lifetime in the living, reflecting their profound connection to the music they make. With minimalist guitar arrangements and subtle accompaniment, The Half Room ensures the spotlight remains firmly on the song and the singer, as they bring together the broader folk traditions of America and Europe with Ireland.

Deray Barboros: With a nostalgic nod to the songwriting styles of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, Deray Barboros is a Berlin based artist who crafts songs in folk, country, Americana and bluegrass genres. Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, she explores themes of love, vulnerability, heartbreak, self-discovery, and the connection between humanity and nature. An active member of Berlin’s vibrant folk music scene, her debut album follows in the wake of releasing her EP ‘Forget Most, Remember Some.’
