Corrib Beo Talk: Connecting Corrib Communities at Galway City Museum

Corrib Beo invites you to the third in a series of lunchtime talks organised by Corrib Beo in collaboration with Galway City Museum on Wednesday 26th March. The title of this month’s talk is Connecting Corrib Communities, a fascinating presentation exploring the deep-rooted fishing traditions and prehistoric past of Oughterard and The Claddagh. Discover how these communities, shaped by the waters of Lough Corrib and Galway Bay, share a rich heritage of resilience, skill, and connection. Through archaeology, history, and storytelling, we’ll bridge the past and present, strengthening the ties between these two iconic Corrib communities. There will also be small selection of replica archaeological artefacts, pertaining to the Mesolithic, on display at the presentation.

About the Speaker:
Bill Daly is the Local Archaeologist with the Oughterard Culture and Heritage Group. He holds a degree in Archaeology and Geography from University College Cork (UCC) and has extensively researched, presented and built replica artefacts to showcase the prehistoric and historical landscapes of Lough Corrib and its surrounding areas.

Further details are available on the Corrib Beo website.
