Ar Ais Arís are back on Friday Feb 21st, hosting a very special night of music in the beautifully intimate and atmospheric space of Galway’s Mick Lally Theatre.

Expect a night of electronic post-punk, post-dubstep and industrial bass-heavy textures from forward-pushing DJ Polyp and Derry-based EBM artist Autumns.

Coinciding with the launch of Studio 8’s “FANANN” exhibition at the Hall of the Red Earle (which is located just across the street). ‘Fanann’ will take the form of a multidisciplinary exhibition exploring themes of time, history, and ecological transformation.

Autumns @autumns.dss is an outlet for electronic post-punk, fused with elements of dub and sound experimentation. The project showcases a love of whip-cracked rhythms, heavily effected vocals and no-wave guitars, processed through dub techniques within the mixing desk. An obsession with freak sounds leads to a high-intensity live show, using minimal equipment for maximum results.

Alongside a heavy touring and release schedule, Autumns also curates a monthly radio show, Dyslexia Sound System, on Bristol’s Noods Radio, where he plays a mix of his favourite artists and solo material and invites friends to produce guest mixes and live sets

Polyp (aka lychee) @lychee800 is future-focused and genre-agnostic. They’ve had opportunities to perform across Ireland and the UK, most notably this past summer at Open Ear festival on Sherkin Island and Féile Na Gréine in Limerick city. They’re co-CEO of @bpm.worldwide (B*tches Play Music), a collective that promotes marginalised voices in experimental electronic music with a sense of playfulness, as well as being behind the scenes of many of Dublin’s DIY strongholds. In the club with polyp, you can expect thrashing drums, ambient swells, industrial textures, deconstructed hardcore, and post-dubstep clarity.
