An Fathach Leithleasach at An Taibhdhearc

An Taibhdhearc presents An Fathach Leithleasach, running from December 2nd to 19th.

This is a magical story of a grumpy Giant who banishes children from his beautiful garden, turning his world upside down – will the grumpy giant ever open his heart and share his garden once again?

Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s The Selfish Giant, audiences young and old will be captivated by a world, brimming full of magical creatures, plants and trees, where children, a grumpy giant and a mischievous fairy sing and dance their way through this unworldly garden.

Integrated signed (ISL) performances will be available on the 6th of December at 7p.m. and the 7th December at the 3p.m. matinee.

There will also be a relaxed performance on the 14th of December, and English language access through Sibrwd, the language access app developed by Theatr Cymru. Our audiences can download the app to their phones to receive closed captioning in English and Irish. The app is designed to make the show easy to follow, no matter what level of Irish you have.

School shows are Tuesday – Friday matinee.
Shows for the public are on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday.

Tickets for the relaxed performance can be booked via the box office, either in person or at 091 357 011. Please be aware that during the show the performers and their friendly garden creatures will interact with the audience in the auditorium.

If you would like to be seated in an area which would not involve any engagement please let them know and they will ensure to reserve your seats accordingly.

An Taibhdhearc is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.
