Housed in a historic building, An Tobar Nua features a homely ambience, lovely seating that overlooks the canal, an atrium area, a full service bookshop, Scripture School and counselling centre. Their café is a safe space for all to come and enjoy great food and drink in a relaxing environment. An Tobar Nua is committed to supporting their local community as well as social justice and their suppliers have all been carefully selected to reflect these beliefs.

They offer a variety of freshly made treats, including classic American-style cookies, brownies, and cakes with gluten free options available. All of their desserts are homemade too. Their house coffee is Badger & Dodo and goes perfectly alongside their range of sweet treats. The menus at An Tobar Nua also includes soups, salads, sandwiches, bagels and wraps which include vegetarian and gluten free options.

The bookshop here is called Bóthar Emmaus Bookshop and it offers a wide variety of Christian books, Bibles, biographies and life-help books. Its large selection of books, gifts and cards cater to all visitors and it is a one stop shop for all occasions whether it’s a birthday, Christening or Holy Communion.

The friendly team here are always willing to guide people of all denominations in an ongoing, trusting relationship with Jesus Christ in their own faith communities. The staff consists of Catholic and non-Catholic Christians working together to make Galway a great place and a more positive living environment.

An Tobar Nua is operated by Foundation in Christ Ministries CLG., an Irish Revenue Commission approved charity (RCN 20034337). It is made up of both Catholic and non-Catholic Christians who are interested in making young people aware of the value of a faith-based life.
