Ability West now offering Beach Wheelchairs in Salthill, Galway

Ability West were proud to participate in the global celebration of International Wheelchair Day on March 1st by showcasing their commitment to inclusivity and accessibility through the provision of All Ability Accessible Beach Wheelchairs. Find out more here...

As part of their ongoing efforts to create an inclusive community, Ability West are proud to offer these specially designed beach wheelchairs, allowing their service users to reconnect with the beach and the sea - huge parts of life in Galway!

These wheelchairs are built to navigate diverse terrains, from soft sand to curbs, making them perfect for beach environments. They provide individuals with mobility challenges the ability to reach the water's edge, float, transfer out for an aquatic experience, or simply feel the waves, offering a unique chance to engage with the ocean.

"We are thrilled to have two beach wheelchairs available at Leisureland in Salthill for persons we support in our organisation, and an additional wheelchair available for public use, courtesy of Galway City Council. We would really like to have more of these specialised wheelchairs available, so if you or your business would like to sponsor one kindly let us know!"

Join us in celebrating International Wheelchair Day, a day to not only recognize the significance of wheelchairs but to also celebrate the freedom and possibilities they offer.
