Please note: The below recommendations are based upon what usually occurs throughout the week during the college year. However, we will always advise you to double check ahead of time that the event is going ahead in case the venue has had to cancel the event for the week for any reason. You have been warned!

Monday
4pm - Open Session at Cadell Bar - Come in and sing, play, drink, clap along or just listen! All music lovers and musicians welcome - doesn't matter if you can't sing or play, come in and learn. Please also feel free to bring in whatever instrument you play and join in! Good music and good beers guaranteed!
5pm - Caife agus Comhrá (Coffee and Conversation) at Plámás - In collaboration with some fluent Irish speakers from Áras na nGael, Irish speakers of all levels are invited to bring along a cúpla focal and join them in Plámás for some chats and banter.
7pm - Stitch and Bitch at The Blue Note - All are welcome at this friendly and supportive craft group. If you want to pick up a new skill, practise an old one and make new friends this is for you. Simply bring along whatever piece you are working on and enjoy.
8pm - Phone Quiz at Carroll's on Dominick Street - With the mighty Justin Conboy (quizmasterjay) at the helm, Carroll's weekly quiz is a fantastic way to celebrate the start your college week. No need to book a spot – just rock up, throw in a fiver to play, and you’ll even get a free pint with your ticket. This quiz starts at 8pm sharp, so round up your crew and get down early to nab the best seats in the house.
8pm - Speed Quiz at Taylor’s Bar & Beer Garden - Entry is just €5 per person and for that you’ll get a free pint plus the chance of winning over €200 worth of prizes. This is SpeedQuizzing on a phone app so it’s fun and fast, with no cheating and no faffing around with papers and pens.
9pm - Little Island Open Mic at Massimo - Start your week by singing a few tunes at Massimo Bar from 8pm on Monday nights. All you have to do is bring your own instruments, rock up, sign up and away you go. After you've performed be sure to stick around and listen as your fellow talents take the stage.
All day - Bring a Friend for Free + avail of Student Discounts at Pálás Cinema - Sign up to Pálás’ Loyalty Student / U25 to avail of €5 student tickets every Monday and bring along a friend on the day to get two tickets for the low low price of one. This Loyalty is free to join and will also get you €4 popcorn. Every €1 spent earns you 1 point and once you reach 100 points you will get a free ticket to the movie of your choice. (Additionally, on the first Monday of every month, at 7.30pm Pálás hosts Drag Bingo in their bar with Blondie. This is always a night of fun, games and cocktails with phenomenal prizes up for grabs.)

Tuesday
10.30am - Bereavement Café at The Secret Garden - On the third Tuesday of every month, the Galway Hospice Bereavement Service holds a Bereavement Café in Galway's Westend. This café offers a warm and supportive environment where people can find mutual support and understanding in their grief. It is a free public initiative, open to anyone who has experienced a bereavement, not just those who have previously used the services of Galway Hospice. The Bereavement Café is facilitated by trained professionals and volunteers.
5.30pm - Language Exchange at The Salthouse - Welcoming people from across the world to chat, mingle and learn new languages, this language exchange evening is ideal for getting you out of your comfort zone and meeting new people. On the evening, you can get a drink and wear a name that list the names of the languages they can speak and then it's all a go to start chatting with others.
7pm - Common Knowledge Quiz with WOMP Events at The Ol’55 Pub - Each Common Knowledge Quiz is different and could include picture rounds, song games, telly & fillum rounds, sing-alongs, riddles, #ImSoGalway trivia, sports questions – and whatever other craic they happen to whip up. Prizes for the top two scoring teams – plus spot prizes throughout. Entry €5 per person. (WOMP Events host many other themed quiz nights throughout the year too so we recommend giving them a follow so you don’t miss any quiz announcements.)
8pm - Quiz Night at Seven Bar - Every Tuesday you can join your incredible host Justin Conboy (Quizmasterjay) for a fun and quizzical evening. No booking needed - just show up! It's €5 to play, and you'll get a free pint of either Heineken, Murphy's, Orchard Thieves, or Orchard Thieves Wild! The quiz starts at 8pm, so bring your pals and show up early to grab your seats!
8pm - BOGOFF Drinks at Coyotes - Buy one get one for free on all drinks every Tuesday at Coyotes. It’s free entry and as well as enjoying this spectacular drinks special you can enjoy music from the DJ on the night until late.
9pm - Ol'Mic Night at the Ol’55 Pub - Tuesdays mean that it’s open mic night at The Ol’55 Pub. Open to all poetry, music, comedy and karaoke performances. It’s free entry and a free pint for the first 10 performers so be sure to get in early!
9.30pm - Silent Disco at Róisín Dubh - With two DJs supplying the music you love, music you hate and all guilty pleasures. Switch between channels to find the song you want to dance to and party the night away. Entry is €5 and you will get a shot of Jagermeister upon arrival. Most drinks are €5 on the night also.
10pm - McGinn's Tuesdays - Every Tuesday night of the college year, is student day at McGinn's Hop House in Woodquay. Its €5 for all pints of Heineken, Moretti, Coors & Orchard Thieves and music from Dempsey & Del on the night from 10pm.
All day - Ruby Tuesdays at Eye Cinema - Tuesday entitles all students with valid college ID to get their ticket for only €6. In addition to the low price ticket, students can enjoy the large popcorn combo or the large nacho combo for only €7.50. If you can’t make it on Tuesdays, no worries as you can still avail of the super student saver ticket (€7) on all other days, weekends and bank holidays included.
All day - 2 for 1 at Galway City Karting - Galway City Karting are helping you shake those college blues with an incredible student offer! On both Tuesdays and Thursdays its entry for 2 for the price of 1 for all those with a Valid Student ID.

Wednesday
8pm - Little Cinema Screenings at The Loft at Seven - Little Cinema Galway are now running monthly movie screenings upstairs in Seven Bar, the place where it all first began. Entry for €5 with doors at 8pm and screening start time of 8.30pm.
8pm - Karaoke Night at Coyotes - Free entry for karaoke every Wednesday at Coyotes. With a free drink awarded to all singers and drink specials such as €4 bottles and €4 spirits & a dash, for all attending. These nights are always tons of fun.
8.30pm - Speed Quiz at The Sliding Rock - Taking place every Wednesday throughout the college year, this night of Speed Quizzing is loads of fun and helps students to break up the week of studying. There is no entry free, 4 people per team, three rounds of 20 questions, drinks giveaways and vouchers for 1st and 2nd place.
8.45pm - Basement Jokes at The Cellar - Weekly, the Basement Jokes Comedy Club brings you a night of stand up and open mic comedy brought to you by comedians from all over Ireland. There’s always a lot of laughs to be had so be sure to check it out.
9pm - Wonderwall Wednesdays at Massimo - This is the night where you, the audience, get to vote what your host Eoin Mullins sings. He will choose two different songs which will be sent to your phone to vote on, with the winning song getting played. If it’s a draw then it’s time for Wonderwall. There will also be spot prizes randomly lashed out through the night and drink promos. No need to download an app, just come along and DJ the musician.
9.30pm - Music Bingo at An Púcán - Every Wednesday night, it is time to get musical at An Púcán. Listen and spot the song, fill out your card and see if you'll be calling Bingo by the end of the night.

Thursday
All Day - 10% Student Discount on Food at The Sliding Rock - Not an event but certainly cause for celebration because every Thursday throughout the university year, The Sliding Rock offer a class Student Discount of 10% off their delicious food to all university students. Make a note of it because you truly never know when you might need to avail of this superb offer.
All day - 2 for 1 at Galway City Karting - Galway City Karting are helping you shake those college blues with an incredible student offer! On both Tuesdays and Thursdays its entry for 2 for the price of 1 for all those with a Valid Student ID.
6pm - Novels & Notions at Plámás - Hosted by This is Galway’s very own Chloe Richardson, this book club is gonna chat about all things literature every second and fourth Thursday of the month in Plámás. Charlie Byrne's Bookshop will also be hooking up Novels & Notions members with a discount on the book of the moment.
6.30pm - Cinema Book Club at Pálás - Taking place monthly, Cúirt selects a book-to-film adaptation to watch in Pálás Cinema and hosts a discussion afterwards in the Pálás bar. It's a night of great chats, great people and great fun on Thursdays mid-month! Just show up on the night and join in. Everyone is welcome, even if you haven’t read the book.
7.30pm - Speed Quiz at The Skeff Bar & Kitchen - The Skeff Bar & Kitchen Mobile Speed Quiz is one of the biggest weekly table quizzes in the west of Ireland. Hosted by the legendary DJ Baldy Mick, get your team together and put your brains together to be in for a chance to win some fantastic prizes. Tickets are only €5 per person and include a free pint and finger food.
8pm - Tenner Thursday at Coyotes - Tenner Thursdays at Coyotes means that on the night you get 3 shots for €10. It’s free entry and as well as enjoying this spectacular drinks special you can enjoy music from the DJ on the night until late.
9pm - Kara-Okay? at Massimo - Grab the pals for a night of sing-along to your favourite songs with your hosts Steve Sharpe and Blind Mick Joyce. This is a weekly occurrence and free entry so get over to Massimo on Thursday night for a fab night of karaoke.
9pm - The Cellar Blue Jams - Taking place on the last Thursday of every month, Meet the Fawkers invite all abilities to come along and play for an audience. Each month they publish a setlist of the tunes for the jams in question so you can get them up to scratch. Guitars, Keys, Bass, Drums and mics for brass and harmonica will all be provided. They ask that the lefty’s bring their own instruments though!
11pm - Club Night at Electric - Here, you have your pick of dance floors across its large multi-purpose venue with areas such as; the rooftop Garden, Factory and Main Floor. Every week, they host an ever-changing lineup of DJs and artists on the decks throughout the entire nightclub, with both big names and local legends making appearances. 4pm - Open Trad Sessions at The Ol’55 Pub - Hosted by Dylan Cox and Gustavo Lobão, join them on Saturdays for an afternoon of laid back tunes and songs for all levels & speeds. No pressure to play fast, this is a learner’s space. Tea and biscuits are provided.

12pm - Trad Sundays at An Púcán - Pints, tunes, and all the good vibes you need to start your week right - that's exactly what you can expect from Trad Sundays at An Púcán. There’s nothing quite like a perfectly poured pint of Guinness to accompany the tunes and atmosphere. Complement your pint with a serving of fresh Galway Bay oysters – the perfect pairing for a Sunday Session.
8pm - Open Mic Nights at Róisín Dubh - Sign-up is at 8pm in the smoking area of the Róisín Dubh. It’s free entry so get down early as the list fills up fast. It’s 1 performer - 1 song. They have a right-handed acoustic guitar which all performers are welcome to use. They do not have piano or other instruments but you are welcome to bring your own.
8pm - An Púcán Speed Quiz - Looking for the perfect way to wrap up your weekend? Join An Púcán every Sunday at An Púcán for their thrilling Sunday Speed Quizzes, hosted by the legendary Quizmaster Jay! Whether you're a trivia buff or just looking for a fun night out with friends, this fast-paced quiz night is the place to be. Prizes include: 1st Place: €100, 2nd Place: €75, 3rd Place: €50. Every participant enjoys a complimentary pint of Orchard Thieves or Heineken, on the house, so grab your crew and be ready for all the action.
9pm - James McIntyre plays Seven Bar - On Sunday nights, the exceptionally talented James McIntyre takes up his residency in Seven Bar. He’s definitely one not to miss, call in and hear him sing his original songs and covers of popular songs.
11pm - John Connelly Inc at Róisín Dubh - John Conneely Inc shuffle through musical genres with ease and with a setlist that spans decades you will hear them performing big band arrangements of Django Reinhardt, Nina Simone and Cab Calloway alongside fresh interpretations of more contemporary songs from the 80’s and 90’s. €5 entry.
