The Japanese Film Festival 2025 arrives at EYE Cinema

The Embassy of Japan in Ireland, and the EYE Cinema Galway are delighted to bring the Japanese Film Festival back for its 16th edition in 2025. Read all about this year's lineup here.

Running from Wednesday April 9th at 7pm to Saturday April 12th, The Japanese Film Festival returns with a programme of four phenomenal Japanese films. Please note that all films will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles. Featured in this year's lineup are;

A Samurai in Time
A lighthearted comedy-drama about a samurai who ends up in the present day.
Screening on Friday April 11th at 7pm, tickets are available here

Ghost Cat Anzu
A headstrong girl moves to rural Japan to live with her grandfather. She soon forms an unlikely friendship with a phantom feline that becomes her guardian.

Totto-Chan: The Little Girl in the Window
Totto-chan, is an autobiographical memoir written by Japanese television personality and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Tetsuko Kuroyanagi.

Cottontail
A low-key, heartwarming drama featuring Ciaran Hinds alongside well-known Japanese actor Lily Franky.
