Sanctuary: Abstract Works by Tory Irvine at Daróg Wine Bar

Daróg Wine Bar’s next Le Chéile evening takes place on Monday 18th August and features Galway-based artist Tory Irvine and her exhibition Sanctuary – a collection of abstract paintings inspired by the slow moments of life. Read all about it here.

From her garden studio, Irvine creates colourful abstract paintings and collages that reflect her love of playful creativity and mark-making. She uses colour and texture to build contrasts that energise a space. Her work plays with the tension between chaos and calm — embracing simplicity and order while celebrating detail and complexity. This contrast is what gives her paintings their distinct character. Tory thrives on the creative process and channels that vibrant energy into each piece, inviting viewers to experience a sense of aliveness and connection.

“Sanctuary is a collection of abstract paintings inspired by the slow moments of life — noticing beauty in the small things and bringing these feelings to life through vibrant colour and layered paint,” says Tory Irvine.

As part of the exhibition, Irvine will host Le Chéile: An Evening of Creative Conversation on Monday 18th August from 7pm–9pm at Daróg Wine Bar. On the night, she will speak in conversation with owner Edel Lukács about her creative process and the ideas behind her work, offering guests a personal insight i to her practice.

The evening includes a tasting of two wines selected to complement the conversation. Tickets are €20 per person and include the artist talk, two glasses of wine, a pop-up art shop, and 10% off all artwork purchases made on the night. Booking is essential: darogwinebar.com/artevents
