PEOPLE OF GALWAY; THIS IS MICHELLE

We’re having the chats with #PeopleofGalway for the craic — messers and chancers, artists and tourists, buskers and shopkeepers, and any other unwitting victims we meet on the street.

#ThisIsGalway “When you have the right relationships with people, society works. When you try and put God in a box, or when you try and put people in a box, society doesn’t work. Same thing with religion and relationships. It’s the same principle. I mean, it would be like if I turned around to you and said “Oh, you’ve got blonde hair and I have grey hair, so you and I are completely different, never the twain shall meet!”

It’s that kind of thing. People box other people in, label and condense them. They say things like “Well you fit into that group of people. You don’t actually fit into my world.”. Some people believe in Islam, some in Buddha, and some in Jesus. And that’s why religion is an issue, because it’s not religion that’s important, it’s relationships – you have relationships with people, you have relationships with God.”
