New Documentary Raises Awareness for Sarcoma Cancer Ireland

The Strange Wolves MMA Club have teamed up with Sarcoma Cancer Ireland this year on the poignant film "Butterfly Guards," in order to help bring awareness to a pressing cause.

Sarcoma Cancer Ireland, a patient-led charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by sarcoma, a rare and often aggressive form of cancer. As the only sarcoma-focused charity in the Republic of Ireland, they are committed to providing essential resources, emotional support, and financial assistance to those navigating this difficult journey.

 

“Butterfly Guards ” is documentary premiering at Eye Cinema Galway in order to raise funds and awareness for the organization.

This is the first ever full-length film on the topic of sarcoma. Sarcoma is a rare cancer of the bone or soft tissue, which accounts for only 1% of all cancers diagnosed; In Ireland, approximately 200-250 people each year are diagnosed with sarcoma and roughly 30 of those will be children

 

The powerful documentary will makes its debut in Galway through a moving event that combines storytelling, resilience, and community spirit to raise critical awareness and funds for Sarcoma Cancer Ireland. This story proves when life gets tough “ you do what ye can.”

 

 From jiu-jitsu mats to heartfelt acts of kindness, the documentary captures moments of pain, power, and profound hope.
