Galway Comedy Festival announces first acts for this year’s festival

Folks, mark your calendars as the Galway Comedy Festival returns to the City of Tribes this year from Tuesday 22nd to Monday 28th. On the opening night of #GCF24, telly icon & mental health advocate Ruby Wax brings her latest show 'I’m Not As Well As I Thought I Was' to the Town Hall Theatre. After a complete sell-out first run in 2023,Ruby Wax's rawest, darkest, funniest and most compelling stage show yet is coming to Ireland this October.

The internationally acclaimed Jimeoin returns to Galway on Sun 27 October with a mighty night of top-class stand-up as part of his 'Who’s Your Man?!' tour. Jimeoin’s show at last year’s Festival sold out six weeks in advance. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy his cheeky and superbly observed sense of humour.

Since his Galway debut at the Galway Comedy Festival way back in 2019, Fin Taylor has found viral success with his hit web series 'Fin vs The Internet'. #GCF24 will mark Fin’s triumphant return as he brings his new solo show 'Ask Your Mother' to Róisín Dubh on Sat 26 October.

The 2023 programme marked the Polish-language comedy debut for the Festival. For #GCF24, they want to keep their Polish speaking comedy fans entertained with Antoni Syrek Dabrowski in An Taibhdhearc Theatre on Sat 26 October. ‘Jaka piękna katastrofa’ to zapiski przeżyć Antoniego z ostatniego roku, a jego perspektywa zmieniła się znacznie odkąd został ojcem.

After a packed few years of TV, Festival & club appearances worldwide, one of our favourite Norn Irish comedians Micky Bartlett brings his brand new show 'THICC!' to Róisín Dubh on Fri 25 October.

In 2013, at Galway Comedy Festival, a wickedly sharp Dubliner named Colum Tyrrell conquered a competitive comedy showdown… and a star was born. Since then, Colum has become one of the fastest rising comics on the US comedy scene, bringing laughs to the top clubs and podcasts across the country. In 2022 he made his US TV debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. On Sat 26 October, Colum Tyrrell returns to Galway Comedy Festival to bring his new solo show to Róisín Dubh.

And that is only the FIRST handful of top-class comedy talent that the Galway Comedy Festival will be throwing at you this October. They even might make some more announcements in the coming months before the FULL PROGRAMME IS REVEALED IN SEPTEMBER.
