Youth Music Takes Centre Stage: GCC Music Centre hosts a youth music event featuring the debut performances of the first bands to secure a rehearsal space in the facility.

GCC Music Centre is a newly developed creative space in Galway City catering to school performances, further education & training, secondary school music development, and after-school lessons. It also offers rehearsal, performance, and recording spaces for young people interested in music.

The bands performing on August 31st are the lucky first few to have secured a regular rehearsal room in the facility and have been busy practising and writing music over the summer. With the Music Generation Galway City programme and regular Livefeed events going from strength to strength, there will be more rehearsal spaces and performance opportunities for young songwriters and musicians available in the coming months.

The event on August 31st runs from 7pm – 8pm in GCC Music Centre, Galway Community College and is free and open to all ages. To book your free place in the audience visit bit.ly/gccmc-tickets

The Music Generation Galway City programme has reached over 3,500 children and young people in over 50 locations including Galway City schools, youth centres and community organisations, providing them with access to instruments and tuition through a subsidised partnership-based approach.
