Introducing “Youth Lates” Live Music at Galway Arts Centre | Nuns Island Theatre. Live Music and Open Mic Night designed by young people, for young people ages 16-19.

What to Expect- 
Open Mic: A supportive environment for young musicians, poets, and performers to share their talents. Go to event website for sign up form.

Live Music: Showcasing the incredible skills of young musicians involved in Music Generation Galway City programmes.

Special Guest Performance: Adore. Adore is a 3-piece garage punk band hailing from Galway, Donegal and Dublin. Their music combines themes from surf, disco and pop which blends with their punk sensibilities, firmly grounded by crunchy guitar and a powerful drum and bass combo.

Support Act Moonlight Eclipse. Moonlight Eclipse is a young rock band hailing from Athenry, Co. Galway. Formed by four friends who discovered their shared passion for music in school, the band has evolved from jamming together to writing and recording original tracks. In the past year and a half, Moonlight Eclipse has released 6 original songs, all available to stream on major platforms. The band has been building momentum with numerous live performances across Ireland, delivering energetic sets that blend their own material with popular rock covers. Youth Lates led by Galway City Council in partnership with Youth Work Ireland Galway, Galway City Comhairle na nÓg, Music Generation Galway City, and Galway Arts Centre | Nuns Island Theatre is a pilot project running from October to December 2024. This initiative offers young people a safe and engaging space to participate in Galway’s vibrant night-time economy.
