TRIBES Youth Arts Festival

This year’s programme has a wide range of events and activities that will have something for EVERYONE!

The festival is aimed at young people aged 14 – 23 years of age, with all events being free of charge, however advance booking is necessary.

The festival includes a series of professional dance workshops for young people, a collaboration between Galway Dance Project and Creative Ireland, showcasing a wide variety of dance styles across all levels.

Another festival highlight will be Livefeed’s youth music showcase featuring some of the most exciting up-and coming songwriters and bands in Galway. Livefeed is a Music Generation project for teens interested in music performance, production and promotion.

This year’s festival also includes a special screening of ‘Man Up (Un Vrai Bonhomme)’ at Pálás Cinema, presented by the French Embassy in Ireland in association with TRIBES and Galway Film Fleadh. The screening will be followed by a discussion with director Benjamin Parent and Annette Maye from the Galway Film Fleadh.

A novel feature of the festival will be ‘My City Too!!’, providing an opportunity for young people to express their views on the future of Galway’s built environment. This free drop-in event is run by Architecture at the Edge (AATE) and the manifesto created will be presented to Galway’s key decision-makers.
