Thursday Lates at Galway Arts Centre: Casting Breath

Galway Arts Centre is excited to announce its participation in “Thursday Lates,” a six-month pilot programme developed in partnership with Galway City Council to extend their opening hours to provide greater access to arts and culture in Galway City outside of traditional working hours.

A series of free, family-friendly events will also run on Thursday evenings as part of “Thursday Lates” to supplement their regular exhibition schedule, with a range of workshops, tours and talks aiming to heighten your experience of the exhibition and give more people a chance to engage with the art.

On Thursday 4th of September, join them from 6-8pm for Casting Breath, an alginate casting process workshop facilitated by artist Taïm Haimet. During this workshop you will use traditional moulding techniques to cast the space of a human breath. This work is intended as a meditation on the invisible force that sustains us; air/breath, as a primal and shared source of life, and poetic shared space.

This is a free event but spaces are limited so booking is essential.
