After a hiatus since 2017, The Guggenheim Grotto, are set to take to the stage again on September 1st, 2023, at Róisín Dubh.

Known for their melodic prowess and introspective songwriting, Kevin May and Mick Lynch paid their dues criss-crossing America and Ireland to cultivate an audience one gig at a time. Along the way, they toured extensively with Ingrid Michaelson, They Might Be Giants, Ani Di Franco and The Waterboys, had songs used in major network primetime TV shows like One Tree Hill and Brothers and Sisters, and garnished praise from influential outlets such as Paste magazine, the Boston Globe and the Washington Post.

With their most recent album released under the name Storyman and a discography spanning three albums under the name The Guggenheim Grotto, including the acclaimed releases ‘Waltzing Alone,’ ‘Happy the Man,’ and ‘The Universe Is Laughing,’ their musical journey has left an indelible mark on the hearts of listeners.

The duo’s strength rests in their infectious, evocative songs delivered with a rare vocal blend – think Neil Finn of Crowded House meets Richard Hawley. Pinning their music down is not so easy. It’s an extraordinary mixture of dark folk, electro-pop, rock and lament – but it’s their ability to put some magic, musical dust into every song that binds their work together. On stage and on record it’s all about drawing the listener in. When playing live they talk freely with their audience and encourage them to add their own voices to a mature catalogue of songs celebrating life’s beautiful mysteries.
