M.FEST is excited to present two brand new shows created by Galway-based artists!

Lochlann Kenny performs a solo work in progress titled ‘Pussyboy’ – an autobiographical piece which documents with a deeply wry, yet affectionate tone, life as a transmasculine Irish person in an increasingly divisive political climate. Specifically, one who copes – as every self-respecting Irish Queer and their mother should – through comedy.

Miachara Productions presents a full production titled ‘If You Love Me’ – the heart-wrenchingly personal debut play by playwright Arianna Belluardo, who bravely pulls the curtain back on the formation of generational trauma and how it affects ideas on motherhood, femininity, and family. ‘Alice. Sarah. Adair. Three generations of women, grandmother, mother, and daughter. Alice works hard to prove herself as a woman in the workplace in the mid-20th century, but at the cost of not being present with her daughter, Sarah. Sarah wrestles to gain independence from her parents, but this leaves her with deep mental scars. Adair struggles to connect with Sarah, her mother, and must decide whether to face generational trauma head-on or to turn her back on it and leave.’
