As well as sharing their favourite food and drinks with their guests, Galway Food Tours would like to introduce some of the people who make them with the series of meet the makers events.

The Galway food Tours Meet the Maker series continues on Thursday 7th September when sixth generation Connemara Distillers founder Padraic O’Griallais will give an insight to the story behind the brand of Micil Distillery. Padraic will detail the history poured into each bottle through family recipes and traditions.

Guests will get to try two of his award-winning spirits paired with Irish farmhouse cheeses and a delicious baked sweet treat.

Micil was named in honour of the owners great-great-great grandfathers Micil Mac Chearra. For over 170 years, this family has preserved the craft of distilling extraordinary spirits made using family recipes, craft knowledge and techniques. Pádraic Ó’ Griallais the founder and director of Micil, Galway’s first distillery to open its door in over 100 years. He champions both Irish products and purity native Irish language.
