Music Generation Galway County to showcase talented young songwriters, musicians and bands from Gort in Livefeed youth music event on May 13th at Gort Town Hall.

This event is aimed at young people aged 12 – 18 who have an interest in songwriting and music performance.

Participants can expect to enjoy a fun and exciting day taking part in a professional concert, from setup to performance, with all the thrills that go with it. The day will start at 11am with participants learning how to prepare before a performance. Participants will then learn about the live sound system and sound checking. At 2pm there will be a live concert in the venue, with participants performing to friends and family. This concert is free admission, open to the public and suitable for all ages.

Gort’s youth music scene has been taking off recently due to the wealth of talented local young people interested in music performance and the massive support they get from hardworking music teachers, youth workers and Music Generation Galway County educators.

To celebrate this upsurge in local talent and creativity, and to give an opportunity for young people to perform and enjoy live music, Music Generation Galway County are bringing the popular Livefeed youth music event to Gort Town Hall on May 13th. The event, presented by Galway artist Tracy Bruen, will feature songwriters, musicians and bands from Gort performing covers and their own original songs.

Young people aged 12 – 18 who are interested in performing at the concert can email Tracy Bruen at tracy.bruen@gretb.ie to get involved.

Livefeed events provide opportunities for young people to perform and enjoy live music in safe, alcohol-free environments.
