This year Outset Gallery will be showcasing new works from the fantastic Galway based visual artist & photographer Enda Burke as an exhibition for the GIAF 23′ Visual Art Program.

The preview/launch event for ‘Far Away & Close to Home’ will also coincide with Outset Gallery’s 1 Year Anniversary since opening in July 2022.

To celebrate the new exhibition, Galway Arts Festival & their anniversary Outset Gallery will be having a full day of celebrations on Sat July 15th from 3-9 with Live Music from Galway based DJs, Refreshments and official opening of the show from a guest speaker – follow on @outset_gallery for line ups and more info.

Outset Gallery is delighted to present Enda Burke’s debut solo exhibition Far Away & Close to Home curated by Outset Co-Director Tom McLean.

This multidisciplinary showcase will invite viewers to explore Burke’s celebration of kitsch décor, bold nostalgia, and religious iconography from Ireland’s past, linked to present through the artist’s unique voice and visual language.

Burke’s work is embedded with narrative and small details become marvels within monotonous settings – outlined in this exhibition through colorful photographic works, immersive installations, and video collaborations with motion graphic artist Dara Greaney.

Enda Burke is an award-winning photographer and visual artist based in the West of Ireland. His work has been featured & published in The Guardian, Rolling Stone Magazine, TED Talks & The Observer and exhibited both nationally and internationally.

Most recently he has won and been shortlisted for awards such as the Bartur Photo Prize, Profi Photo Prize, Sony World Photo Awards, and the Zurich Portrait Prize.
