Illustrated Talk: A Guide to Sustainable Fabrics at Galway City Museum

Do you ever think about the material that makes up the clothes you’re wearing? Do you ever look at the label? Maybe you don’t like how certain fabrics feel. Perhaps these fabrics pill and snag easily, or are difficult to wash. Maybe you don’t think about it at all.

Regardless, here are some important questions to consider: How do these fabrics affect the environment? Does natural always equal sustainable?

Join Stephanie Heide, the owner of Fabric Romance, (www.fabricromance.ie), ahead of this year’s Fashion Revolution Week 2024, as she discusses the basics you need to know about textile fibres to help you make informed wardrobe choices.

This event is free of charge, but places are limited so advance booking is advised. Call the Museum on (091) 532460 or email museum@galwaycity.ie
