Heritage Week Activity: Beach & Dunes Biodiversity Walk

Join Galway City Museum, University of Galway, and Galway Atlantaquaria on Grattan Beach, Salthill for the ‘Heritage At Risk’ Beach & Dunes Biodiversity walk.

Join staff from Galway City Museum at Grattan Beach for a guided exploration of this unique coastal environment. Learn about the importance of the dunes, how they protect our coastline, and how we can help preserve them. Along the way, discover the fascinating plants and wildlife that inhabit the beach and dune ecosystem.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about Heritage Week, the risk or threats to our cultural heritage, and how we can all become protectors and guardians of Grattan Beach which is over (160) one hundred and sixty years old.

This is a family friendly event.

Meeting point: Grattan Beach, Salthill, Galway at 1pm.

Admission is free, but places are limited and advance booking is recommended. To reserve a place, please contact Galway City Museum by email to Museum@GalwayCity.ie or by telephone at 091 532460.
